Welcome to Amanda-Jayne Beamish Ceramics

Amanda-Jayne was born in Liverpool in 1965. She has a BA Honours degree in Fine Art from Lancashire University specialising in painting & sculpture, and a Post-graduate teaching qualification from John Moores University.

Her Story

In 2009 she relocated to Cornwall with her husband David and two sons, taking on the role as HOD of Creative Arts Faculty in a specialist Art college. In 2018 after 18 years teaching she decided  that ‘life is too short’ and to pursue a career as a Ceramic artist!

She now works from her studio in Porthcurno, having fun each day producing  hand built stoneware ceramic reliefs such as seals, octopus, fish and Stargazey pies! Each piece of work depicts their own quirky personality and charm - each an individual character for example ; a story could be told! (Inspiration tales of Beatrix Potter )

Colour is very important to Amanda-Jayne! She loves to experiment mixing palettes of underglazes - later  sealing them with a clear glaze and plenty of love!  Her natural ability to create such-like creatures from clay makes them truly unique and unmistakably Amanda-Jaynes.

Where can you find her work?

At present she has 4 Galleries that sell her work ,

The Blue Bramble Gallery, St Ives,

The Four Crows Gallery, Porthleven,

Trewidden House & Garden, Penzance,

The Riverbank Gallery, Newlyn.

She also exhibits her work in Coast Interiors & Accessories, Mousehole.

Amanda-Jayne hopes they make you smile!

Enjoy!
